Episode 144: Farhan Lalji (TSN)

November 7, 2019 By Brian Wawryshyn

Episode 144: Goodbye Coach Clay

DeVone Claybrooks was the first casualty of a 5-13 season on Wednesday, as the Lions announced he had been relieved of his duties.

Was he a scapegoat or were there solid reasons for the decision not to bring him back? Ed Hervey hinted there may be, while many fans were not happy with the news.

Farhan Lalji was at the Ed Hervey press conference and stops in to offer his thoughts, and after listening to him, you may feel the answers to the above questions lie a little more in the middle than you thought.

We also take a look at what lies ahead for the Lions as another off-season of uncertainty begins, with potential new ownership, many areas to address with a new coaching staff again, and the roster needs.

Episode 143: Mike “Super Fan” Knutsen

October 10, 2019 By Brian Wawryshyn

Episode 143: Mike “Super Fan” Knutsen of the Eskimo Empire Podcast.

Riding a four game winning streak the BC Lions will be looking to make the noose a little tighter around the necks of the Edmonton Eskimos as they visit Commonwealth Stadium this Saturday.

A win and the Lions stay alive, a loss and they are officially eliminated from the playoffs.

Mike Knutsen, aka “Super Fan Mike”, of the Eskimo Empire Podcast stops by to chat about CFL collectibles, the slump in Edmonton, and what he expects to see this weekend.

Episode 142: Lemon Drops

October 3, 2019 By Brian Wawryshyn

Episode 142: Lemon Drops

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When you need to improve your pass rush or a podcast guest, you bring in Shawn Lemon.

Shawn Lemon has been a big part of reviving the BC Lions defence, racking up 8 sacks and a forced fumble over the six games he’s played since rejoining the Lions.

He stops by to chat with Brian and Mojo to give his thoughts on why he can’t seem to find a long term home in the CFL, if the XFL will impact CFL recruiting and what he would do to put more people in the seats in CFL stadiums.

Three podcasts, two losing teams, what could be more exciting than that?

Episode 140: Dante Marsh

September 6, 2019 By Brian Wawryshyn

Episode 140: Dante Marsh

We’re back after almost a month off, and as we put Labour Day in the rear view mirror, the BC Lions playoff hopes are nearly done.

Hands up if you saw that coming?

The Lions fired offensive line coach Bryan Chiu in hopes of turning things around. The first shot fired by Ed Hervey, with more likely to come at the end of the year.

We try and take a look at what lies ahead for the Lions in a season which has basically become an extended 2020 training camp, for everyone.

We’ll also lighten the mood a bit as we welcome former BC Lion Dante Marsh back to the show to check in on what’s going on in his life, his split with the Lions, coaching aspirations, and what it means to be an Oakland Raiders fan.
